I have recently acquired a Farmall Model M tractor, but can't seem to find the year that it was made. I have a serial number and several other numbers from different parts on the tractor. I've been told it's anything from a 1940's model to a 1950's model. Looking at the different tractor photos, it looks to be a 40's model. Can someone please help me find out what year this tractor was made according to the information I can provide? Any help will be appreciated so we can start restoration. Thanks in advance.

Serial number in reply to sammy the RED, 11-15-2004 02:51:09
Thanks for the reply. The serial number is FBK 209141. I've been looking all through this site, I've even found several tractor owners listing the same serial number, but the number seems to range from part of the 40's into the 50's models. Being a woman, guys, means I'm not that into machinery parts. LOL The tractor is rusted and it makes it hard to read some of the numbers on some parts. I wrote down all the ones on different parts that I could actually read.

If you will go to archives and do a key word search in Farmall Forum for "casting codes" you will get more information than you want to read on dating major castings on tractor.

There should be two serial #s they may even match one on the LH side on the bell housing and one on the RH side on the motor just above the dist cant rember if in frontor back on engine on M. But find them and look up the serial # on this site its a link on the Left side of this or every page.on the left. Under research and info. JON
