I have inherited a Mcormick International Harvester B450, the plate serial # is in the 5000's and says made in england. It has been parked for about 2 years and I have made some headway getting the systems to work, ignition glow heater ect. One thing I realized is its way to much tractor for my small spread. I am really dont have the time or $ to restore it properly so I was wondering if anyone had a smaller tractor they would want to swap for it? I just need something to spread dirt and such.

I just sold my B-450, there is a guy in Jonesboro, Ar that may buy it. Put the tractor for sale in the photo ads section and it will sell quick. Mine sold in 2 hours.

I met a guy at a tractor show this fall that knew a lot about these tractors. The reason he knew is that he worked in a dealership in the 50s and sold them. They were imported from England and sold only in the West Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, etc area. This fellow was from Memphis I believe. I'm a little hazy on this, but I think he told me that they were imported because folks in this area did not like the 460/560 tractors for some reason and these were brought in to satisfy those people. I think it had to do with cotton farming. Wonder where you are located? You can send me an E mail.

You're talking about a 55 horsepower tractor, correct? I'm interested depending what part of the country you're in. I'm in central New York State and already have several British IH tractors (B-275, B-414, etc.) I am not interested in trucking anything long-distance. I don't know if you're looking for a good running small tractor, or a project. I've got over 30 tractors, some running great, some barely running, and some not at all. Mostly Cases (DCs, VCs, and VACs).

I don't have any extra parts I want to get rid of, but I know where there's a bunch of B-250s, B-275s and B-414s sitting in a tractor junkyard.
The guy is not cheap though - I only buy from him when absolutely necessary. About 20 miles from me, he literally has hundreds of wheel tractors and crawlers in the woods behind his dealership. His website is at: Link
