I have a IH 460 utility with a fast hitch. It only floats down, what do I have to do to get down pressure for my back blade?

Mike the 460 should have tel-a-depth control so you can change the single double. So check the pin at the bottom of the cylinder. If you have a check valve on the fast hitch it could be bad.

Two things. Do you have pin in at the bottom of cylinder? This locks the lower anchor to the main frame. The other thing, do you have control valve on double acting or single acting? I believe valves on 460 are located below the dash, if cover is still on you should have a push in plug covering the ends of the valves.

Hang some weight on your blade.

I agree with Bob and add weight. I don"t believe down pressure is the solution. If your"e having problems getting it to dig in you either need to adjust your third point to level the frame, check the condition of the cutting edge of the blade or use a loader or other means to break the surface. I do believe that three point blades are more for light scraping (under their own weight) and surface leveling. Any more than that, something"s gonna break!

Schmidty

if it's like the 450 just switch the valve from single acting to double acting

jle and champ i think are correct, there should be 3 valve right in front of the shifter.they will have a lug sticking out at you it is round with 2 flat sides (if my memory is correct,i'll look later today)you just put a 1/2 or 9/16 wrench on the flats and turn the valve i also think there is like a detent tab on it to hold it in place.i'll even take a pic of it for ya.
