Found a 400 carberator with intake towards the front, this is ideal for F-20. I was wondering if anyone knows what this carberator came off of. Thanks for any response.

Is it a 400 Diesel? They will have a small carb for starting (it starts on gas and switches to diesel). I couldn't tell you what it looks like though, I haven't been on a 400D for almost 30 years.

Could the carb be from a combine engine? I have done a lot of engine swaps from 503s& 715s into 706s &756s. (6 cylinder engines) The linkage is lefthand compared to the tractor

Are you sure it's from a 400? Does it have the place where the governor control would attach?

It is the same as normal carb except the intake is on the left pointing towards the front. I have seen only one other like it on an F-20 pulling tractor.

Any way you could post a picture of it? I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.

Did 6 cyl. have the intake towards the front? I was going by what was marked on it, which it said 400 LH.
