Ran across this feeder yesterday. This looks like a $600 to $750 feed wagon to me. Whadda think it is worth?

Well if you realy want to fight the cold and scoop snow the running gear alone is worth $300 so you can't go too far wrong. looks like it might need some new wood. As for me I plan to run my cows out til at least February and then feed hay. My feed wagon can rest this year! ☺

Allan, I surenough looks good to me! Though I was always on a OSWALT/butlet.. Ensilmixer on a 1980 C70. A neighbor had an ol Chuckwagon mounted on an ol 1950 Chevy truck. Both despence silage or greenchops very well. Just different whistles and bells.
Back to yours....It does look straight, try to see how much slack the drive has in it, worn sprockets and such, How does the running gear pull! will it trail straight at 55 or 60 mph. Or does it look like a desert sidewinder going down the road at 20 mph. I know you have heard me say before start obscenely low then go up. It is probably a deal at the price you mention, but better at $400 or $500. Good luck!!!

Allen, looks like a JD Chuck Wagon. I think they were reversible with a rear door so you could unload kick bales out the back. I was thinking they were ratchet drives but if they reverse with variable speed then maybe not. I never used one but we had some neighbors who did. It's hard to find decent used front unloading wagons if its in decent mechanical shape jump on it. A little marine plywood and some ugh! green paint she be gooder-n-new. Now let's talk used forage harvestors.

Looks in pretty fair shape huh. Course, then you
'ed have to buy some cows, then plant more row drop, then an ensilage cutter, then a bigger tractor to pull it, then another tractor and at least a couple of wagons to haul the silage in, then a packer tractor preferably with a front blade on it, then some feed bunks, then a sorting corral, then more cattle. Oh, yeah I do. Workin' on the whole darned mess, even as we speak. But, we've decided to go with a pot load of heavy heifers, tho. :>)

My problem is that I'm running against the clock and somebody always keeps setting that finish line back a ways to make it harder for me to get to before the clock runs out. :>)

Just kiddin about it being green, I grew up being exposed to more green machinery than any other color. That chuck wagon looks like a deal to me, go for it. Just don't let I.D.F. see this.

Think you are pretty close on the value at about $650 or so. Course not seeing it in person can't tell how solid it is but I assume you wouldn't be taking pictures of a heap of garbage. If she is solid she sure will be handy...and I am sure there aren't all that many used ones for sale that aren't knockin on death's door. I say grab er up and let us know how much you had to giv for er.
