I bought this for a parts tractor about a year ago in Houston. I noticed that the front end has a notch on either side for a vertical pin to go in. It is sized to fit a chain very well but I have never seen one like it before. My question is, is it orginal or from something else. It also has the lug front wheels like the real wheels.

Those slots are cultivator attach points. Maybe other equipment used them too. Our 400 had them.

sounds like someone replaced the front casting with one from a 300 or 350, our 300 has one from an H because it appears someone used a hammer to try to break the crank pin loose and cracked the casting.

Did the 300 have the slip wheels on the front?
I have been looking a pictures of the older farmalls. Maybe I've been going the wrong way.

slip wheels? ours has the inner hub/spoke wheels with the 3-loop rims (like the back rims on A,B, Cub) similar to our SM and 400 but bearings are different we tried they won't swap.

Do you need another Farmall H? It has a stuck motor with belt pully housing. I"m north of Houston about 40 miles.

I'm in Commerce. No I have three now. They were all stuck when I got them. Didn't know they came any other way. Last one needs some rear end work. Been saving it for cool weather.
