I am in the process of restoring a SMTA. I have a hyd. remote that I thought I would install.
However, this tractor has a Charlyn P.S. unit installed & it connects to the right side of the valve body where the remote should tie into it.
My question is: Has anyone ever run into this ?
Can it be done & not look silly?
Should I just forget the remote installation?
Thanks.

Al,

I have an extra pump/reserviour, bracket, front crank pulley and a couple of used hoses to fit that Char-Lynn if you need 'em.

Get a flow divider valve that give 2 gallons/min of flow to the charlynn torque generator. Check out Force America dot com.

Gressen KCFD-2 $150. 3/8" CF PORTS

Or get an adjustable flow control valve

FC-51 3/8" CF PORT $80.

You can also buy a separate powersteering pump from them to fit your SMTA but it is spendy!

Yes it can be done , but you will need a flow devider if you want everything to work the way it is suppose to .
