Farmall Cub Belly Mower
My father asked me to post this message. He recently bought a belly mower for a farmall Cub. The mower needed some work done on it. While tearing down the Ratchet Clutch assembly, which he has done on several different mowers through the years, he noticed that there is some other sort of assembly other than the usual Ratchet Clutch that he is used to seeing on Woods,Internationals, and I belive he said Bushog brands. He is puzzled on how to make repairs to it.Maybe this is what Farmall went to in the later models? The part that needs replacing is factory made. With what appears to be part # 3171 on it. The mower itself has no serial plate. Any info would be appreciated. I have a picture of the part and would email it to anyone with interest on this subject.

You're going to have to explain things better: "It's got a thing that's factory made that needs to be replaced." Not going to get much help with that...

Is this "thing" there in addition to the overrunning clutch?

Is it there instead of the overrunning clutch?

Which mower is it?

Sorry,Novel Idea Guy. I tried to make a good interpretation of my fathers wishes, without having much knowledge on the subject. Maybe I need to just look to the part number and contact dealers to find out my fathers questions, instead of, apparently ticking off knowledgable people like youself. Thanks for giving such a blount answer and later on when my father does rebuild the mower gearbox or whatever, I'll maybe be able to contact you, and talk more intelligently about it. Thank you

If you can't identify any brand, model or part numbers, a few pictures of the mower and the parts in question might give somebody a chance to recognize it.
