If you recall it was stolen last week and destroyed wen it came off the trailer of the thief. My neighbor has been letting me use his H to get the small chores around here done before winter, but I have had to help fix a few problems on it.Impound yard brought was was left of it home this morning.Insurance aent came and looked at it and asked me the value,I told him what Ipaid for it and what I had in it at the time,1800 combined, and he wrote me a chack for 2100 on the spot.he also told me I could just keep it and dispose of it as I see fit,so looks like Ill be putting it back together.I have found a parts tractor that has what I need on it,forunately I will only have to track down a good used radiator and fan as the junker Iboguht doesnt have those on it. I see no problems there.I hope this weekend to get the axle housing chaged to at leats limp it to the shop.Ill keep you all updated on my progress.

Hi John, Glad you received your insurance so quickly and the thief was caught. He should have
to break some big rocks into small ones along with a stiff fine.

It has been about 20 years or so ago
that a tractor ring was operating in SE PA. They were stealing new tractors. It was family involved and they were eventually caught. This was made into a movie too. The father raped his son's girlfriend because he thought she was going
to testify against him. I think the son testified against his dad to avoid prosecution.
Good luck with your tractor rebuild. Hal

That is great you got some ins. money for it ...nice to collect once in awhile, but sometimes if a person gets too many claims , they drop you for sure ! Hope you have good luck getting it all back to normal. Lots of tractor junk yards around, aren't there ?

John:

Glad for you that you got some insurance dollars. Really sorry to hear about the theft. Really gets me thinkin' because all my tractors are at our farm 1/2 hr from here in the country with no security at all, so since hearing about your situation, i've been trying to figure out how to better secure my collection.

Jeff

Hes out on $5000 bond.No definate court date set yet.Hes called once to appologize for the incedent, and in fact offered me a parts tractor to fix mine. I turned him down and hung up the phone.Lawyer says he think the trail will be the Monday after Thanksgiving. He is an older gentleman, about 60 or so,and I have known who he was for sometime now.All of the tractors he had have been taken unitl he can prove they are his, which the investigator who is handling the case has told me at least 10 of the restored ones and 9 of the junk ones awere reported stolen, some as far back as 1963.I am thankful that we have a great police force here.

The least he could have done was given you a restored Farmall M to use while he restores yours for free!

Smart move John, those attorneys need to earn their money. Good Luck. I still think they need to bring back Posse's and lynch mobs just like the old days for horse theives.
