Stuck Super C

With lots of help from these forums - I've just unstuck my Super C. I have a couple of questions now it's time to put all the bits back together.

1. A small section of one of the sleeves broke off during hammering (Ooops!). The part that's missing is on the section of the sleeve that hangs down below the block. Should I be concerned about this or is this section of the sleeve unused?.

2. Should I take any steps to prevent leaks when I install new head, sump and inlet/exhaust gaskets. Or should cleaning surfaces and dry fitting suffice?

Thanks

If you can, post a picture. I had B sleeves modified to fit my F-12 and one of them got droped in the process and chipped. I chose to put it in and everything is fine, but as other posts indicate if it is too big, it can cause problems

Sleeve. (1st opinion) Replace the sleeve.

(2nd opinion) With one of the pistons installed rotate the crank and see how far down the piston travels. If the bottom of the piston skirt travels into the broken area - for sure replace. Depends on how much of the sleeve is broken out.

(3rd opinion) Replace the sleeve - there may be other cracks in the sleeve that are not visable.

Leaks. I usually install my gaskets dry. However, some dress the gaskets with a sealer. Your choice.
