Found this little tractor setting in a fence row needs some help all there motor is loose! The owner wants $800.00 looks rough Owner said it was parked because the steering is really sloppy. Need to know how hard is it to get parts for? How old is it? Whats the horse power? What size engine is it? Whats the difference between it and a 240 or 340? What kind of trouble is repairing the steering box? Any body have used parts for it? Thanks!!!

Dann, my Dad bought one in 1962 at a farm sale, with a loader and a 3 disc plow. It had power steering. The brakes were pure crap. I think we had this tractor for 19 years. The engine is bullet proof. The tractor it's self I hated it with a passion, why it was dirty, hot, all four wheels hit the same bump at the same time. Dad and I went to the field once with it and the H both had 3 disc plows on, filled with gas before we left plowed four hours in a 7 acre field, Dad on the H lapped me every 4 rounds when we quit we filled them both 330 used 2 gal more H 7, 330 9 and it only has a 10 gal tank. The 330 is about 2 or 3 inches shorter than the U 300 and 350.It seemed like every time we went to use it some thing had to be fixed first. (little things) We did put many, many hrs on this tractor.

The 330U is essentially a 350U with a C135 engine in it (the 350 had a C175). The 240 had a C123, the 340U also has a C135, probably rated at a higher rpm?, and is slightly heavier. The 330 was sort of a stopgap tractor until the 340 was produced.

Great little tractor been told it's highly collectlble since only a little over 4000 were made. I've had my since 1969. Used it for everything on the farm. It's a 34 horse tractor and even used it in emergencies on my IH 340 kicker baler with no problems. Currently I'm restorin' her to her former glory. Just got done with the overhaul now working on the sheet metal.
