I am looking at a Farmall 400 with a Koyker loader with a wide front and power steering. The guy says that the torque slips a little and other than that its in nice shape. He said he"ll take 2500 for the combo, what do u guys think? Does that sound like a good deal or not?
Let me know if anyone has a 400 and what they think of it. Thanks alot.

go for it. often people would put 8090 in the trans. if that's the case, drain, rinse with kerosene and refill with hy tran
good luck

Good point. While most bad TA's need a new ramp and rollers, some just need an oil change. I bought a low hour 400 with oil that would not pour at 25 degrees. It was pitch black as well. Changing to Hy-Tran fixed it. I saved myself a double split and $500.

sounds reasonable to me. you can run it without the TA untill you have the cash to fix it.

Me too.

That is just about what that outfit is worth considering the loader and the bad T/A.

It is up to you as to how bad you want the rig and if you want to pour a little more cash into the tractor.
