We have an 806 diesel that we farm with and I was hoping to put a little more power out of it. I was thinking more external things suck as different injectors, lines, pump. I dont want to fry the motor. It does need new injectors so and suggestions on that will be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

I agree with KB 826. Dad had an one 806 that he had turned up so far it blew fire out the exhaust. No turbo. When he got it around 3500 hours he traded it, afraid they had damaged the valves or something, a neighbor got it and just sold, 30 years later and still going strong. A turbo would clearly get you a boost, but I think I priced a used turbo and everything else I would need at around 500-750 out of a salvage yard.

How much power are you looking for and at what cost? You could add a turbo along with adding larger injectors, lines, and a pump... I have heard of guys just turning up the pump and you can get more power just out of your stock pump. But I believe to do it right it would be good to add the turbo, larger pump, lines and nozzles. I currently own a 806 D with almost 10000 hours on the clock never been touched, bone stock right now. I would like to totally go through that tractor and have it at above stock HP settings (somewhere around 140 HP). Im thinking about not only a turbo, larger pump, lines, and nozzles; but also possibly adding some type of intercooler as well. I really like 806's and that would be one sweet tractor when Im done if I could pull it off.

The aftercooler is an interesting idea. Any thoughts on what you're going to try?

I was thinking of some type of air to air aftercooler which means I would have to mount that in front of the radiator and pipe air from the turbo to it, and then back to the intake manifold somehow.

You can get all you need by adjusting the pump. Get it on a dyno and set it at about 105. The engine will last, and it won't cost you much. Beyond that, You'd need a turbo to take advantage of a bigger pump and injectors, big $$$. You'll notice a difference just getting the injectors you have back up to spec.
