I have just put on an International trip bucket loader on my Farmall 400. I hooked to hoses on the right side (belt pully) hydraulic block. The loader will not move up. How do I blead the air out of the lines? Also, I have 3 levers for the hydraulics, I do believe I am to use the one closes to the tractor and the third one farthest out is for the back hydraulics, what is the middle one for?

Thanks,

David

You should not have to bleed the air out, but if you want you can crack a connection and let some out.

But, you may spill some hydraulic oil, which in some areas is considered a hazardous material so you may have to call the fire department to come and remediate the spill. Your homeowners' insurance may not cover the cost so it would be wise for you to take remediation training first, then curb the area in which you expect to discharge the hazardous material, warn the neighbors, don your protective suit, spread absorbant, and have paramedics stand by along with a safety watch with fire extinguisher. Should everything go as planned, be sure to dispose of the contaminated absorbant properly. This should include giving an advance copy of the MSDS for the hazardous material to those whom you expect to receive the waste. Should things not go as planned, just don't say I didn't warn you : )

The right side block is for the middle lever and there should also be a block on the left side that is controlled by the left lever. These hydraulic valves can be set for single acting or double acting by turning a knob about a quarter turn that sticks up off the front of each valve. I'm guessing yours is probably set to single acting so it only pumps one way and your hose is hooked to the wrong side. There should be two plugs on that block. I'm assuming you are just running one hose and your loader gravities down. Good Luck, David
