Thank you for the help, The tractor can be running good and when i turn off the motor and when i go to
start it again it will not start and it backfires, I take the mag off and it is out of time after i get it retimed
it runs ok for a while The other day i snubed the moter and after that it wouldnt start until i retimed
the moter, An old guy checked out the mag and said it was ok, was hoping it was the mag that
would be the easiest to fix i guess im no mechanic

Going to 12v wont solve the problem of jumping time. You must have lost some teeth on the gov assy or the camshaft or even in the mag istelf or are you sure the rotor isint bad and the flat spot is worn. Better find out the cause first as thereis no reason to go 12v.
