My 82' 5488 makes a annoying vibration noise or better yet sounds kinda like a blower fan motor out of ballance. It only does it at med. throttle or higher, and the second you touch the brakes it quits. I played with it the other night and also seems to quit in certain positions when the steering wheel is turned to let pressure off the steering.Doesnt do it until it warms up either. It has to be hydraulic, but what? is there a check valve in line somewhere that is getting worn out and the ball is vibrating too much? It will absolutely drive you nuts after a while. my 5088 didnt make that noise!anyone have experience with this?

Have you changed your hyd filters? I had the same problem with a 3788 recently and the filter change helped. Also had a mechanic tell to over fill with oil.

That PFC system can drive you nuts and if ya don't have the analizer and flowmeter you are chasen a ghost , it could be some dirt in the orface or it could be in a releif valve. or it could be in the pump it sounds like the pump is not unloading and when you cause a demand on the pump it goes away could be in the swathe plate . like i said with out running some test your shooten in the dark.

Posted the same thing over at red power board, several had the exact same problem and it ended up being weak springs in the flow divider valve. I think this exactly describes my problem by their explanation,so I am going to get some springs. Isnt this computer great?worth its weight in gold at times.
