Normal operating temperature?

I have a 1958 International 240 utility (c-123) I have just changed the temperature gauge and sending unit on my tractor. What should be the normal operating temperature in F or C degrees? The old gauge wasn't working so I wouldn't know what to compare it too.

I have also replaced the thermostat. The new thermostat opens at 180 F instead of 170 F that the original one was set at. I got it from an International dealer and was told that the company had switched to 180 F thermostat and weren't making the 170 F anymore. Will this affect the performance of my tractor? Thanks for any input.

The tractor will operate below 180 deg until the thermostat opens and will operate at 180 or a little above depending on air temperature and how hard you are working it.

Under light load on a cool day the thermostat may not open.

If it gets above 200 deg I would suspect a clogged radiator.
