In an earlier post about a 1256, You fellows mentioned cunsulting an I&T manual. What is it and where can I get one? Is I&T the publisher or is that the name of it?

Thanks,

Butch

Hi Butch, I found this web site when I was looking for something else. They're located in Australia and they sell tractor manuals. I've never dealt with them, but some of these guys
that respond to this forum may have dealt with them. Someone said they were about the same as Binder. Their web site is www.ploughbooksales.com.au and their email address
is stephen@ploughbooksales.com.au. Their overhaul manual for the McCormick-Deering 10-20, 15-30 and 22-36 is $65.00 and contains 164 pages.
A shop manual on your car probably costs more than
that. Hal
PS: I hope you're taking good care of those Holsteins.

Got my I&T manual at the Case/IH dealer. Think I saw them at Tractor Supply too. They are kinda like the generic service manuals you see for cars at Auto Zone, etc. Lot of good info, maybe not quite as good as a real shop manual but still worth getting.

IT manuels are rather generic. Usually they cover a little on several different models. If you already have some mechanical knowledge and skill they work ok. I prefer the "Blue Ribbon Service" manuels, available through Binder books and other places as reproductions. They are more detailed and cover one model or at least very similar ones. I have bothe IT and Blue Ribbon Serice manuels for my SMTA and use them both. I also have a parts book for it which helps a great deal.

I liked the ones from Binder Books. They are as good as any I have seen.

Where can you get I&T manuals? Most farm supply stores, tractor supply stores carry them.

They're published by a company called Primedia.
It seems that YT won't let me post a link to their catalogue, but you can Google one up.

Butch,

An IT manual is the same as a shop serive manual in the automotive business. The best manual to get for your tractor.

I wish we could get the real deal somewhere instead of "reporductions". I bought a couple off this YT site, but was a little disappointed in the quality. No color oil circuis or electrical schematics, etc. Hard to follow when they are all black and white.

Maybe someone will come on here and tell both you and I where the "good" manuals are.

Allan
