Well, I thought I would try the new gas cap deal by sending in the form for all my tractors about 6 weeks ago. Today they came in the mail. All seven of them. Some of mine already have the new style on them and I am almost certian that the previous owners didn't buy them either. Just wondering why anyone would buy one of these when they cost over $30 from OEM, CNH, or eBay.

mine has the newer style and its plugged, after mowing for awhile i can start to smell gas so i just reach up and loosen the cap and then tighten back down and it's good for another 10 minutes or so.i'm gonna have to get me a new one too.

Dumb question: The new safety gas cap program just for gasoline tractors? not diesels?

The link worked yesterday - when the site down this morning, it must have wiped them out. I had given the same link you posted. Thanks John

If your tractors all ready had some then why did you order to many? I hope you are not going to list them on ebay. JON

Jon,

Of course not. I wouldn't sell anything I didn't buy. I wanted them because all but one of them I have has dents in them. The one on my C gets liquid fuel up through the vent holes and boils the paint off. I have since powder coated them and this has eliminated that problem. I guess I just wanted to have a few spares around the shop too for the new tractors that follow me home from time to time.

I guess what I would like to see some place like OEM tractor parts make is an old style gas cap that has the new triple baffle internal to it so you have the safety and the original looks.

Mine came today also. In fact, they came while I was looking at the old cap that wouldn't tighten down. I ordered one for each of my old Hs, because one tractor still has the origional cap, and the other one has a replacement that looks like the safety cap, but wouldn't tighten down. Never expected to get them...ken

The new ones or the old ones leaking? Is it at the gasketed surface or through the vent hole?
