I have a 2 point hitch from a 560 on my 400D. I don"t want to buy a parts book for one thing. Can some kind person give me the number of the 2inch bushings on the shaft that the hydraulic piston attaches to? I got the # of the small ones that the arms attach to, but need the # of the large ones. Thanks Geoff NY

Your Case-IH dealer should let you look, his computer part numbers are about one keystroke from the same exploded views that are in the parts book.

Geoff: Not possible to get 5.5 hours away from a CaseIH dealer anywhere in NY state. Really the whole upstate area is still prime agriculture, and your completely surounded by OH, PA, CT, NJ, VT, NH and Quebec and Ontario in Canada. I'd be willing to bet there are 8 CaseIH dealers within 2 hours of Buffalo on the Ontario side. It wouldn't surprise me if there are another 8 betwwen Buffalo and Syarcuse right in NY state.

Mr. McKay, on a couple of occasions you have told me that I was wrong in somthing I said on this board. I appreciate that you have helped out a lot of people with their questions regarding old Farmalls. In this case however, you are shooting yourself in the foot. I live on eastern Long Island, so it takes at least 1 and 1/2 hours to clear NYC and then start clocking the miles hours to a dealer. I grew up with my dad selling IHC"s at a local dealer here in town and am very aware of where dealers are. We all wish there were still dealers around. Geoff NY

Geoff: My apologies, like CNKS has said we rural dwellers do encounter a bit of difficulty comprehending the complexity of urban sprawl. We generally think of 5.5 hours taking us at least 300 miles, and in the case of Ontario closer to 400 miles, Ontario being a rather lawless spot when it comes to mph. OPP don't even blink an eye until your 20% over the posted speed limit.

I have a friend in MI, we joke about the large numbers of MI cars you see in ON, but not the reverse. Ontario drivers generally don't go to MI a lot as they must obey the speed limit. My friend tells me the MI drivers we get in ON are the MI drivers who like to break the law and get away with it. I hope you realize I am trying to be a bit light hearted about this whole matter. My friend in MI tells me, we are not the only lawless society, as it applies to mph, and that NY state is just as bad.

On a more serious note I am surprised you don't have a few dealers in that urban sprawl. We have one near Toronto, (By near I may as well say in Toronto) who has done very well by urban sprawl. He got into lawn care equipment, highway mowers, skid loaders and other compact equipment. The fact he is driving force behind old iron collection has ben quite a factor as well.

Those of us who live in rural areas can't comprehend the urban congestion. 5 1/2 hours for me is well over 300 miles if I obey the speed limit (which I don't).

Then try Carter and Gruenwald -- 5 1/2 hours--in NY?? Didn't know they closed that many dealerships.
