I have a cracked block just above the carb. Can you have the block welded while motor is together? Or do you have to break it down to the block?

Thanks,
Jon

I've seen them repaired by drilling and tapping the block, and installing a pan and gasket over the crack. Worked on one for over 30 years, so I guess not too bad. :)

J.B. WELD will work if the area is clean. I also have one on a mower tractor that i fixed with a good rubber cement has been running for three yrs with no leak. Fixed one a long time ago with resin and fiberglass cloth. None of these has ever leaked and were not cracked aroud the sleeve area on top of the block. You can always weld later.
