2 Point Prolbem

To answer some of your questions, yes the valve needs to be timed with the hitch. I believe that the lever can rotate 360 degrees, but that really is mute as it doesn’t need to in order to function. Sounds to me like the previous owner had an issue and cobbled it up so that he could get by without fixing it right.

In my opinion you must get an IT manual or other shop manual to do this correctly unless someone here can walk you through doing it. I have the manual, but can’t get to it until tonight. Post back here if you want more info, and I’ll see what I can do.

You just can't sling the new feedback linkage on the tractor and expect it to do its job. There is a series of critical adjustments that have to be done, and the I&T manual does an excellent job of stepping you through this.

If I remember correctly, there's no way the small arm will spin 360 deg freely if everything inside is kosher. Check to see if that arm is pinned to the control axle. The axle is what enters the Tel-A-Depth spool body. The pin may be gone. (I wish I had my manual here with me!)

If the arm and its axle connection are OK, then it sounds like there is a problem with the set of differential gears that reside inside the Tel-A-Depth vavle body. These are easy to access and inspect. Sometimes the gears get stripped and/or they may lose the pins that connect them to their axles. This differential gear set tells the spool to shut off the oil flow to the fast hitch cylinder when you've selected a fast hitch height.

It sounds like you really have a problem with the gears. Your movement of the Tel-A-Depth control lever is transmitted to the Tel-A-Depth spool thru this gear set, too. It appears the gears have problem and are only letting the control lever to move the spool in one direction only.
