I recently bought some parts for my 40'A at a local tractor dealer. Problem is I think the woman had no clue as to what she was doing.I bought a radiator cap(part# 67448DD) and a tune up kit(part# IHTK1-H).The tractor has a magneto, could someone tell me if this stuff is right before I open it?

Support Pro shows 67448DD as a pressure cab and 43983D as a non pressure cap. Both numbers are for an A serial number brake.

The radiator cap is part # 43983D. This doesn't mean that IH hasn't crossed it to something else that will work. My parts CD does not show a kit for the ignition. There is definitely a big difference between a Mag and a distributor.

Did you inform the gal weather you had a mag or dist.? Working in parts myself it surprises me how many people don't even know what they have. I hear all the time "it don't make any difference because their all the same" so when you give them what they want " well that ain't what I want" so then I guess there not all the same then. So don't knock the parts person even if it may be a woman until you been in their shoes.

I'm not knocking all sales people, but I went to a parts store to get a regulator for my 'C'. She came out with a little piece plastic and handed it to me. When I told her that was not what I need she informed me that that was what the book called for. Sorry, try again. Second attempt brought a regulator for whatever type of car I have no idea. There were no terminal markings on it at all. Strike two. Luckily, the phone rang so I turned the book around and looked it up myself. When she finished on the phone I had the number for her to look up in the stock room. Viola, back in business.

That part number is a pressure cap. Won't fit an A.

I cant tell you the part #s but there is a lot of differences in the looks between the mag kit and dist kit. The mag has a Rotor thats about 2 to 2 1/2" across and the dist kit has a rotor a little bigger than a quarter.and the condenser will have a wire on it for dist and just a bolt type peg for magneto. HOPE THIS HELPS JON
