I removed the pump and found the gear that drives the pump is stripped, pump gears look ok. What is the likely cause of the stripped gear? What is this gear called? I don't have any books yet, just got it home today. Thanks again, Gene

The filingsfrom a stipped drive gear would end up in the crank case. There is a seal between the pump gears and the drive gear.

Hi Gene, I think that stripped gear is called the drive gear. Call 1-800-732-0017 and have them fax you a parts breakdown on that pump.

Some metal may have flaked off the gear teeth and eventually caused the failure.

Thoroughly clean that pump housing
and check those pump gears for any flaking of metal or excessive wear. That hydraulic system
may have metal particles circulated throughout and
may have to be flushed. Tha Super C is a nice tractor and I liked the fasthitch. Hal
