When you say kid i dont know if your 10 or my age 16. Is this going to be your first tractor? If it is, I would just go with a gas M for your first tractor, They are cheaper to fix and easier to maintain, The diesels are a bit harder to maintain, And alot of money to fix. Since its seized up, then it could have a cracked head, then you get into the big bucks, I know a guy who has a SMDTA, he has $12000 into the engine, and another guy has one, he quit on it, cause it was takin to much $$$$. I'm not trying to scare you away from it, i'm just telling you it could get expensive. Just wondering if your from ontario, I saw an add in the ontario farmer paper, It was an MD with an M&W.

The M&W hand clutch kind of gave the tractor "live" pto and hydraulics. By pulling the handle, the tractor stops moving and the pto and hydaulics still work. Can't shift the tractor w/o the foot clutch though. Parts new for the clutch mostly have to be made, but there are some used parts floating around. My M&W is indespensible picking corn and baling hay(maybe because a NH 570 baler w/thrower is a little too much). Good luck and have fun!
