I was looking for a replacement gasket for the radiator on my 1951 Cub. The one I found on this site says the part number is 351 878 R92 but the parts book says I need a 351 878 R91. My question is: what's the difference between a R91 and a R92? They look the same in the drawings. Also how do I determine what model cub I have, according to the serial number it is a 1952 but how do I tell if it is a 154 or ???

The offset platform cubs are just "Farmall Cubs." There is no model number associated with them.

Your serial tag should have the model number on it along with the serial number. Farmall Cubs just said "FCUB."

154 Cub LoBoys didn't come out until the late '60s.

The number after the R indictes a revised part. A higher number will fit. Depending on the specific change and where it is used, a lower number may not. In other words, an R2 should be able to replace any R1. But an R1 MAY not work any place an R2 was.

If your tractor is a '51 or '52 model, it is simply a Farmall Cub, no model number. Look on the ATIS Cub FAQ for more details and pictures of each version.

I can’t tell you what the difference between R91 and R92 is, but from my experience, a change in the number following the R meant a revision in the part itself. In some cases, the change may have been in the material the part was made of. As long as the part number in front of the R is identical, the part will work.

Hopefully someone else here has a better explanation.
