I have got grandpa's old H out, converted it to 12 volt, and trying to get running again. We had trouble when we parked it. I have got spark all the way to the plug. On the third and fourth cylinder, though, its missing. If I pull the wire off the plug and hold it up to it, it will hit, but with the wire on, it is dead. Any ideas?

I've had the same problem on an S-MTA. I bought it hitting on 3 cyl. with new plugs and learned that Champion plugs were notorius for having short lives in the old Farmalls. A Farmall old timer told me this and in this case, he was right.

Well, it was bad plugs. Thanks MagMan. Sometimes, when a guy gets frustrated, he doesn't take the time to think. When I switched the plugs, BINGO. Runs like a champ now. They were recently put on, they were champions, D16, I wonder if sitting finished them. I stepped up to D21s. Thanks again.

On my H mag, the plastic thing the roter mounts on turned inside the gear it attached to so my roter was always out of phase.

Try replacing or switching plugs and wires or cap. See if it makes a difference. JON
