Ok new problem arose this afternoon.Engine runs fine now on the small tank on the hood, switch to pump and it runs fine for a few seconds then spits and sputters and will die if I dont catch it by turning on the small tank.if I crack the lines open a little, fuel comes out in 3 places, line going into the pump, coming out of the pump,at the vent thing that goes back into the tank, but not at the T where the two tanks tie in.I removed and cleaned the lines, nothing in there.Think maybe its just a weak pump?Someone said NAPA may have these but that was sometime ago, anybody know if they do in fact carry them,or will I being calling Rice again in the norning?

if you run your line from the pump to the return tee, then to carb,[elimate little tank for now], does it run? is the little switch over tee/valve plugged? if youve got a vent sticking out hood, is that plugged? pg

No vent on the hood, only 12s had that. What I can do is run it off of the little starting tank on the hood, have a cutoff for that tank and teed in there to the line from the pump,it runs fine from the small tank and runs when the big tank valve is on but no turbulence in the pump bowl.I can crack open the lines from the out side of the pump all the way up to the carb and gas will seep out. That cold just be from the small tank working it way down the system, although I dont think it should but it does.now,if I cut off the samll tank and open the big one,it will eventually cut off.Im pulling the pupm off this afternoon to bench test it and see what happens,I hoping just a vapor lock situation.
