Found a M am looking to buy. serial number: FBK 246245 x1. Anyone tell what year it was made? Looks like it has power steering, no 3 point or auxx hydraulics, runs good, havent drove it yet, tin is in good shape no big dent but paint faded. 13.6x38 rears look almost new. The dealer is asking $1595.00 it sound like a fair price to me but i thought i'd ask the experts. And what to look out for on M's
Thanks much
Ben

Ben It looks like you have a 1950 M. Check the gear shift lever to see if it is sloppy. Should go into gear smothly. Drive it around the lot. Try each gear and listen for any whines or growling in each gear. It should not slip out of gear. Check front end (steering) for extensive looseness. Check the brakes. It would be nice if the tin work was real nice. When you pull the throttle lever back does it have a good and snappy response?

THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE. HAVE A COUPLE MORE QUESTIONS. ON THE RIGHT SIDE THERES A ROD RIGHT UNDER THE THROTTLE LEVER,IT RUNS DOWN TO THE SIDE OF THE BELLHOUSING, NEXT THERES ANOTHER LEVER IN FRONT OF THE BATTERY, THERES A HUMP ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION, WHERE THAT SECOND LEVER GOES INTO. HOPE THIS WAS A GOOD ENOUGH DESCRIPTION

Ben, the first lever is the hydraulic control rod and the other is the belt pulley control.
