I have a 59 460 that used to be a diesel (the previous owner switched it to gas). I need to rewire as some of the wire is old and all the old wires from the diesel are still hanging. The tractor also has an alternator instead of a generator. Thanks

Well - since I DON'T OWN an operator's manual, I don't have a diagram! My shop manual doesn't have a diagram in it. I THOUGHT I might find someone here that had one.

Galen,
Did you ever find a wiring diagram? I believe I have one for a 560 somewhere on CD. Let me know if you need it and I'll look.

Stan -
Thanks for posting a reply! I haven't as yet found a good diagram. Most of the ones I've seen have the Generator system, not alternator like mine. Any help would be GREATLY apprieciated.
Thanks -
Galen

I don't think you will find a wiring diagram for a Farmall 560 with an alternator system. Those tractors all came with generators and the end users replaced them with alternators when the generators would go bad. They usually installed an alternator with a built in regulator thus bypassing the generator and regulator. That is what I did on my 460. I just ran three new wires from the amp guage, battery, and key switch.

Op manuals are usually hard to find, a new one is $20, not going to be any help with a alternator anyway. JUST TRYING TO HELP.
