we have 1256 that is putting pressure in the radiator.weve replaced the thermo 3 times. the local garage tested and found that it is carbon dioxide. seems to slow down when engine is wide open.when slowed down it starts pushin water out
on the ground.the block is slightly cracked behind the fuel pump but has only seeped coolant for a long time.any thoughts????? ????

Pull the head again and have it pressure tested. The one of the injector tubes may be leaking.

Tomy,

Could be a cracked head or seapy head gasket, but more than likely it has pinholes in a liner(s).

I agree, it darned sure isn't a thermostat.

I would have to say that it is in the head area as 1256"s are a dry sleave engine so it would have to be a head gskt . injector tube , or cracket head.

Would have to agree it must be in the head area,and I'm guessing a head gasket. You dont have a 1206 radiator in it do you? they dont have baffles like the 56 series and will dump water out on the endrows when you throttle down fast after running under a good load.

no it is a 1256 radiator.i forgot that we also replaced the head gasket.gonna order a new block
and head and rebuild kit that otta fix it.
