Hi, I am trying to make a decision on buying a new oil pump or a rebuild kit. What would you do??? My problem is loss of oil pressure after the tractor is getting hot. Would I be better off with a new oil pump??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bill

I had a rebuilt engine w/old oil pump and exact same problem. I bought new - 'bout choked at $300 but oil pressure meets new engine specs now. No regrets yet.

What tractor are you working on? I have several used oil pumps for sale.

I had the same problem, it was the bottom of the drive shaft was worn for the oil pump. Pushing side ways on the gear would show lots of side movement. A new rod was over $100. I got a new, old stock pump for $200. Problem solved!!! I know the guy has more pumps if you need one. E-mail me if you need help. I have no afiliation with the parts guy!!

What model tractor is this? I put a new bottom plate and pressure regulator spring in the oil pump in my BN engine and it made a big difference. Total cost with oil pan gasket about $100. Dave.
