I have noticed that on some M"s and Super M"s that have an air cleaner jar, some of the jars say Kerr and some of them are Mason jars. Did IHC use both or just one or the other. Picked up a case of them for a $1.00 at a yard sale today. "Kerr Brand". Anyone ever see or use these? Thanks for any info.

The "original" jar was a Ball "special" mason. The Ball "perfect" mason jars are in abundance, as are the Kerr brand jars. Any of these jars will work, shoot, an old mayonaisse jar will work, but if you want it to be original, it has to be a Ball Special mason.

I've been told that the right size canning jar is hard to find, you may have gotten a real bargin.

From what I've heard, Kerr, Mason and Ball are all replacements gotten from the wife's cupboard because they are about the same shape as the original and the threads fit.
