Farmall use and governor noise?

I find that there are few things better than putting my tractor to work so I've been making the most of a good day and doing just that. The local farm museum have a manure pile that's threatening to grow larger than many small farmhouses so I've set to spreading it out over their pastures. Unfortunately there's no manure spreader so it has to be done by the time tested method of shovelling it onto the trailer and shovelling it off again, but it's a good excuse to get out with my tractor and do some work. I replaced the springs in the governor last winter (and didn't use the tractor much over the summer) and it's been making a funny noise ever since not to mention working many times better. It is a "clicking" that sounds like the end of a stiff piece of wire rubbing on a gear or something like that. It just starts and stops for no particular reason but it's getting louder and more frequent. Any ideas about the noise? Thanks, SAm in NS

Hi If its an H or M take the cover off the side of the govener while its running and look and see there is no oil pressure there it will leak a little though. I dont know the little tractors but I dont think there the same. JON
