Anyone know offhand what the IH spec is for Hytrans? Local dealer doesn't even carry it..... special order only! LOL! Won't stock it cuz no one will buy it. Says everyone uses the generic Hyd/Trans from the Co-Op, or some universal stuff from Esso. Does the Wally-mart hyd/trans stuff meet said spec? They do list an IH spec on the pail. I have to change the fluid in my 666 and don't really wanna spend 5 or 6 times what I have to to get the real stuff ordered in.

Same with my grasshopper mower..... dealer looked at me like I was retarded when I asked for the real grasshopper fluid ($10/gallon)for the hydrostatics, told me to use Esso NUTO H68 in it, that's what they use themselves.

Sam's Club has hydraulic fluid that meets "HyTran" specs. Says so right on the 5 gallon buckets it comes in.

Look for a fluid that is MS1209 compliant.

Was at local Toyota dealer recently and local Shell distribitor was unloading truck load of "genuine" Toyota oil and transmission fluid. Might be made to special specs but my guess you can buy same stuff under Shell brand.

What kind of a dealer is he? My local dealer buys Hy-Tran by the semi load, and sells it by the pickup load.

I get mine from sams as long as it has all those letters and #s you know like sc and such I would not think you would have a problem. When I was a teenager I was led to beleve that if I didnt use the same exact manufacture and viscosity it would not mix together and ruin the motor . Like I said I was young what do you want.LOL JON
