I have a 656 IH Hydro that slips if you don't feather the lever forward! I am trying to see if it is worth fixing or not. It still can be used for light jobs (NO TILLING!) What do you tractor guy's think!!! THANKS!!!

KW On the other it may not take $4000 or $ 5000 to fix The only way to tell is to have it flow rated to see what it needs maybe just a charge pump or the foot and inch valve or relief valves.

This one is a wash.

Like MN said, the worth of the tractor has already been eaten up by it's needed repairs.

And don't fool yourself, one of these days, it's not gonna move at all.

But, say you were someone really dumb like me. If I could buy the thing for $1200, I'd jump on it even tho I'd be going in the hole..... 'Cause they are really nice loader tractors after they are right.

Now on the other hand, if it is a gasser with 4999 hours forget the whole bloody story; it needs an engine and a tranny. Never, ever see daylight on that one.

It will cost $4000 TO $5000 to rebuild the hydro. It depends if the tractor is gas or diesel but thats about what a nice diesel 656 would sell for.
