Farmall M Trojan Loader Questions

I have acquired an old Trojan Loader that appears to have been built around a Farmall M from the engine back to the differential housing. The engine has C248 on the block and the casting code puts it in 1953. I am trying to find the fill plug for the rearend gear oil. I have found the two drain plugs and the level plug on the side, but much of the top of the transmission area is covered by the operators platform and I am having trouble locating the fill plug.

The machine is also missing the bottom clutch bell housing cover and I would like to get one on before venturing into the brush. Can anyone recommend a place that would have them and how much would I expect to pay for one?

Haven’t worked on a Farmall yet so this is fun learning how it works. Somebody has really goofed up the governor/throttle linkage on this thing, I only get about 900 rpm out of it. Been doing a lot of research in the archives and can’t wait to get an I&T to help figure this thing out (the Farmall part that is..) Can’t seem to find hardly any info on old Trojans.

Thanks all...
Dan

I can't help you much on the trojan part of it, but your throttle speed problem is probably because of weak or stretched spring inside the governor. Check that out before you start adjusting the throttle linkage.

I have a old trojan loader with a 6 gas int. I had the same problem. It felt that it had no power and would just about run the loader. I put an extention on the throttle linkage, now it has plenty of power. I date the trojan about I use it all the time ot load gravel.
