I have completely restored a 1947 Farmall A and do not know where to put all the decals. I know where to put the one for powertake off and the one on the generator, but the others I have no idea. (especially the "open", "Hitch only to drawbar or front pull hook..." and the one that says to "Be Careful about making sharp turns..."
can anyone help

phyllis, Short of suggesting you buy Guy Fay"s Letter series book, which details where each decal goes, I"ll try to help as much as possible if you promise not to hold me accountable if you make a mistake. The "open" decal is used only if your tractor is equiped with shutters and the decal would go on the rear gas tank pedistal right next to the shutter crank. The "Hitch only" decal goes centered on the rear of the seat with the top of the decal 2# down from the top edge of the seat. The "Sharp turns" decal goes in the center of the gas tank with the rear edge of the decal 19" frm the front seam line of the gas tank. There are several other decals you haven"t mentioned, but I wont address their placement unless you have specific questions. Hope this helps. By the way, I do strongly suggest Guy Fays book as it is very informative.

Paul: That sounds like politics rather than tractor advisor. "Don't hold me accountable."

Hugh, I guess I"ve been watching too many Kerry vs Bush ads lately. I just didnt want someone buying decals, attaching them, then having some expert point out the incorrect placement, and then having to hear that I am responsible for a new set, plus a new paint job due to faulty intellegence. Sort of a CYA move there...Yeah, I guess I do sound like a politician afterall. Thanks, Hugh, I needed that.

Paul: From this side of border, we can just sit back and observe, our elections are over for awhile. We are just in the growl mode now, growling about all the things politicians said they would do and are not doing.
