Well im not even half way done restoring grandpa's old h and i already want another tractor to start working on so im not bored when i finish the h. I have been looking at the farmall b and like the way it is offset. One thing im wondering is what is the difference between the b and bn, also is it just the stickers or is the cultivision any diff? i know they are all cultivision becuase that is what the offset is. But why do some say it and others dont? Also can you keep your eyes open and if you see a running/drivable B or BN for sale in the NY are for a fair price can ya let me know? Also what would fair price be?

As Greg said below, the difference is in the rear wheel width. The BN is 8 inches narrower than a B. 4 inches on each side.
Either could have a single or dual front wheel, but in narrow configuration only. Neither was available from the factory with a wide front end, although the front end from an A will bolt right on.
The difference is in the length of the differential shaft and housing on both sides. The B's will be 22 inches, the BN's are 18 inches.

Click below for a pic of the right-side of my B. A BN would be the same, only 18 inches instead of 22.

Kevin, MAGMAN is correct about the N meaning narrow. He just had the wrong end of the tractor, the BN has narrower REAR axles that the B. The BN generally came with a single front wheel rather than the twin front wheel setup (it was an option). I'm speaking from experience because I have one of each, a 40 B and a 41 BN (not to mention a 48 Super A). See the picture from this weekend's parade my son and I drove in with our B and SA.

HI KEVEN, Where from NY are you ? I am in the near the oswego Area if you know where that is. They sold probly 15 of this summer at an auction. I dont know alot about those little tractors but I beleve the B came with a wide front end and the BN is B narrow front end May be differences in the tractor to but the N stood for Narrow I believe. In our part of the country I will say from $300.up to $1400.maybe more for a restored one. I recently bought a cub for a grand in non running shape but turned over with snow plow, land plow, Buz saw,and cultivators, and a heater cab.It cost me about $125.00 to get it going with a new carb. Look around there is a auto finder magazine out of the rochester area that has alot of tractors and there are a few sold here in there in the james town area on ebay . JON
