Hi, I restored a 1948 Farmall Cub. I did a complete rebuild on the C60 motor. The tractor has been runnig good all summer but know I am having problems with the oil pressure. The oil pressure starts out on the high side but after the tractor starts getting hot the oil pressure will not hold. I've never heard of priming an oil pump after a rebuild. Is it possable to go back and reprime the pump or is it a sign of a bad pump??? If this is a bad oil pump, where could I find a rebuild kit or are you better off with a new pump?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Bill

How much pressure are you losing? Some pressure loss is normal after the oil heats up and thins out. I have a gauge on my Cub that reads 32 lbs. when cold and about 22 lbs. after it gets hot. The engine is in good shape. There is a small hex head fitting on the left side of the block that is used to prime the oil pump after a rebuild, but since you have been using the tractor all summer this is not an issue. What does your gauge read?
