Looking to buy a 986 or a 1086 for round baling & running a 13' rotary mower. They both have cabs with air & both have around 5000 hours. The asking price for the 986 is $13,000 & the 1086 is $14,000. They both are in good condition. Is this a good price? Which one is better on fuel? Are parts about the same price for both? Are they both easy to work on? Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

James As for working on they would be about the same the 986 should have the D436 the 1086 DT414. If they are 1979 they will be better on fuel than older, or if one is a 1979 that is the one I would by, I would say price is high.
