Everyone is pointing to carberator. Hate to suggest it but do a compression test. My first thought would be stuck valve or split ring.

Hello,
You might even want to have it running with smoke and turn off the fuel and see if it smooths out within about 30 sec then runs well until it runs out of fuel in the carb. If it does then the carb is where the problem is. Mark

Sounds like a leaky float,Remove the float, and shake it you should not have any gas inside the float

As a last resort you might check the air filter. Boyd

Hi Boyd,

H's don't have air filters; they have air cleaners.

Might have got a speck of rust or something into the carb and it's lodged in the needle valve and seat, allowing fuel to trickle in all the time. Probably have to take the carb apart to remedy it.

Sound"s like a fuel delivery problem. Check the float setting in the carb for starters.
