Farmall Axle Swap..............Can I do it?

Can I put a 1942 Farmall H axle on a 1951 Farmall H? The bearings in there sound nasty. I have a great 1942 laying around with perfect axles...smooth as a babies butt.

Can I do it and have it work correctly?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott, Doesn't that Farmall H have an electric
starter? We used an H with a buzz saw mounted on
it, this tractor had electric start and this was in 1950. Just curious! Hal

Like ACES says, should swap right in. I'd keep the bull gear in the tractor with the tractor it's in and just swap axles however. Those bull gears & pinions could get noisy if the wear patterns aren't the same.

Thanks! I need to hunt up some oil seals and I will be good to go. I am turning the tractor into a movable, drivable, hand crank starting buzz sawing monster. I need to figure out how to hand crank it with a buzz saw mounted on the front though.

Thanks again!

Scott
