Fast-Hitch service manual

If I'm going to keep my Super C, I need to dive into the hydraulics of the Fast-Hitch. It has a leak up near the pump, and it still goes up fast and down very, very slow. Is there a separate service manual for the Fast-Hitch, or does the factory service manual for the tractor cover the hydraulic system?
Thanks,
Bill

There are manuals for the Fast Hitch; see Binder Books for good ones.
The slow down movement of the hitch is caused by the check valve located by your feet on the transmission cover. It's purpose is to help carry loads without dropping; you have to work against the check valve to lower the hitch.

Thanks for this info.

I suppose if the pump is getting weak, it will cause the hitch to lower even slower?

I wonder if there is a rebuild kit for the pump.

Thanks,
Bill

A parts manual will do you more good than anything -- you probably need to disassemble the reservoir and put a kit in it. Easy enough, there are no adjustments in it -- just takes time. Kit is available from Case-IH. Unless you have a photographic memory, you will need the parts manual. Your pump probably needs seals where the pipes attach, good idea to remove it and replace the seal that keeps oil out of the crankcase, you will also need a gasket where it attaches to the block. All this is in the parts manual.

I've reviewed my parts manual; I think I'll call the IH dealer and get the gaskets and seals I need and start there.
Thanks,
Bill

The IT shop manual covers the "touch control" type hydraulics that your tractor should have.

The late Super Cs with fast hitch have "Hydra Touch" systems, not Touch Control. Does the I&T manual cover that too? Granted, the I&T manuals aren't particularly useful, the sum total of the information they provide being, "Take it apart, then put it back together again," without providing a single detail on how such is accomplished.
