I was at a neighbor's place yesterday and saw he has a 43 H with the old style farmall seat. The one that looks like a 2 inch pipe with a 90 degree bend in it. What year did they switch from this seat to the one with the shock absorber?

Larry,
The seat with the shock absorber was the optional at extra cost deluxe seat. The one your neighbor has is the standard seat. I believe both were available throughout production, although the deluxe seat may not have been available from day one.

I have a 44 H with the shock absorber and coil spring. Of course, someone could have changed it, but I don't think so.
