The steel lines under the seat have a hole in them. They appear to have rusted through. Are there any easy fixes for this? Are the lines available? Thanks for any help.

I have a friend who made replacement lines for both lines for his 460. It took a lot of time and work.

I have brazed them with success. I have also used the compression fitting/hose conversion. I got it from local IH parts dept.

Hi Kevin, I would switch to hydraulic hose too.

Friend,I have traveled this road. I think the tubing is 5/8". A hyd. shop can get you compression fittings and sell you some tubing. I put in new tubing between the block under the seat to just in front of the seat. Had to enlarge the opening at the front of the seat base. As most hand benders only go to 1/2", I had to borrow a bigger bender. Turned out real nice, but the hose idea that was posted here sounds alot easier. Good Luck.

I used hydraulic hose about 25 years ago, still using it.

I've fixed lots of them in the old days by brazing in a patch

Same here, but mine were so bad I had to cut out a piece and braze in a piece of pipe.

I agree w/ Nebraska Cowman. Can't think of a more positive and simple repair method.
