Can someone tell me the lobe lift on a Farmall H cam? Just got my block back from the machine shop and I am trying to determine if this cam is any good.

Hi Mike, The best way to check that lobe lift is with a dial indicator. Greg gave you the lobe lift, set the indicator at "zero" on the side away from the lobe and rotate cam and watch the dial indicator. Good Luck, Hal

The standard lift is 0.202". The Super H had 0.240". As long as the lobes are all the same, it will be okay. The 240 lift cam and domed pistons made quite a diffrence in my H.

Thanks fellas, I had set up an indicator this morning on it, they all seemed close but wasn't sure how worn they were. It looks like the lobes aren't that bad.

The cam should not be too worn when you can compress the valve springs with your fingers.

The cam in my H was not too bad either, but since it was out and I was boosting the compression ratio by about 50%, a little more lift seemed in order. Grinding the cam and lifters ran about $125.
