I made a mistake in my post the other day. I meant to ask if a sickle mower from a Cub would fit an International 140. I was thinking of an A that we have and typed the wrong thing. So would a Cub mower work on a 140?? Thanks in advance. You guys are the greatest.

I have a good front-end loader for a "140"IHC. May have line on other "140"equipment as well.Red

One other point the others touched on, the Cub is all around physically smaller than the 140. Virtually every major part of the mower will be too short.

The Cub mower won't work on the A, Super A, or the 140 for the reasons the others stated. I would not even try the conversion. As Hugh said because the PTO turns opposite, the pitman flywheel will unscrew off the shaft.

Sandy: You have one insurmountable problem and Sam named it but did not elaborate. The two PTO turn opposite directions. The pitman crank screws on the end of shaft. I don't remember about pulley at back but may be the same. If you try turning these opposite direction to that intended pitman crank will screw off the shaft. Just didn't want to see you getting into a fabrication job on mounting and find it a waste.

I can't say for sure but I'm pretty certain it wouldn't work. For starters the cub PTO is a different size, rotates in the opposite direction, and at a different speed to your 140. Also where the A and the 140 have a direct bloodline connection and many of the components are either very similare or interchangeable the cub's only relative is the cub lo-boy and any resemblance to the larger tractors is just that. So you would probably need a new PTO connection and mounts to make it fit. Hope this helps, SAm in NS
