I'm looking to slow down my 2nd and 3rd gear for pulling, do the industrial 460 have slower gears, is there a ring gear that would fit to slow down the tranny? or any other ideas besides smaller tires?

If you have a International utility pinion and ring gear is 18 and 50 teeth. You could put a farmall P&R 15 and 49 to gear down.If you have a
farmall now,i have a pinion 13 and ring gear 50
that will work.

YOu can slow down a MTA, 400, 450 by using a 560 main shaft and ring gear. The reduction might be as much as 20%. I would have to check the parts books to give you an accurate number. The same info probably applies to 300, 350 vs 460. Of course, if you made that swap, your 460 would go faster.

I realize that this info isn't going to help you. You need to go to a helpful dealer who will look through his books. You don't need to confine your search to 460 models. YOu could check out 504, 606, 656 and probably others. This will take some time because you will need to check alot of PNs of related components to insure interchangeability.

You will also need to change the tranny main shaft because the pinion part of the gear set is formed on that shaft.

Maybe someone has already done this research and he will have an answer. Good luck.
