I removed the magneto and magneto drive to replace the magneto drive gasket. I lost the marks that I made for the magneto drive. Through trial and error (from where I thought the magneto drive gear should be) by moving the magneto drive gear one tooth one way or another, I got the magneto to click with # 1 cylinder at TDC at the first mark on the bottom pulley. Am I ok so far? Next, I noticed that the rotor is right before the #1 spark plug wire when it trips, then rotates on by the #1 wire, is this ok? I DID NOT touch the two distributor drive gears. Also, I noticed that the magneto is in a little different place than before(I was able to find the magneto mark I made). The magneto is between the two farthest adjustments, a little more than half way now, the magneto is in a slightly different place than before. Is this a problem? If I move the magneto drive one tooth one way or another and reinstall it, I then have to set the mag at the extreems( Or more) to get it to click at #1 TDC. Thanks!!
